The guy (maybe it was Bruce? Maybe you?) was really friendly when I went it. He asked if I was looking for anything, but... you know, I was just browsing. In town for a few days for work, having fun exploring. He gave me good tips on places to eat - I had the ribs a few blocks east of your store - they were delicious. It was a long walk that day - I was staying at the Concourse over by the Capitol.

I love Madison!

I own a set of the Heroes, Heavies and Heroines.  I can't remember where I bought it, but it would have been cover price or less.

Adam,

FF 73 contains the FF vs. Thor, DD & Spidey battle Kirby/Sinnott style.

Todd, is that print of the Shadow by JB as well? I don't know if I've
ever seen him draw the character before.

No, that's Mike Kaluta who drew the Shadow for DC in the 70s. If you're not familiar with him, he was a hot artist of his era and his run on the Shadow was one of those legendary runs. It's stuff like that and Gulacy's run on Master of Kung Fu and Dave Steven's Rocketeer and Jim Starlin's Adam Warlock that really gets me excited about comics... there's something about discovering things that were there a long time that were either before your time or you were too young to know how good they were... it's like discovering comics gold...

Holy cow, Todd, what a small world! I've been to Captial City Comics many times...but not for several years.  The Milwaukee store on the other hand, (when there was a Milwaukee store) was my home away from home in my early twenties.  Bryan Ash, who ran the place, was one of the coolest guys in the history of cool guys, and I'm sorry to have lost touch with him.  Tom Fassbender who worked the Madison store at the time was a pretty cool guy too.
Great memories.

And you haven't yet. As I recall that was the inker's interpretation.

Dan, you are indeed most powerful.

Black (the inker) really did a number on Wolverine's mask "fins." Looks pretty faithful on the rest of it.

Does anyone know, on that Mind Spawn Communications set, was that just the three prints?

I've got two sets of the three prints and then one extra of three characters one. I'm just wondering if the three prints are considered a complete set or not. I wish the Destiny one was the one I had an extra of. I'd like to keep that for myself.
