No big deal, really. Anything that happens in the actual comics can be undone. And, frankly, there's a whole lot more characters I'd rather see dead instead of what's happening to them currently at Marvel. The real issue is whether what's happening in the real world, the ever-shrinking market, can be undone.

Could the fact that John has a claim / stake in her pre-Alpha Flight have anything to do with that?

Hard to believe it's been 20 years since Alpha Flight has been interesting. Since JB will never go back and work with them, they might as well be dead anyway.
I'll admit, it's kind of sad to see poor Puck die though.

Who or what was that supposed to be that attacked Alpha Flight?

Checked out latest "New AVENGERS." BIGGEST example of filler-writing-for-the-trade that I've ever seen!! How many full and double-pages pages were there, that really didn't even need to be there to begin with?

The very reason I dropped the book after the Sentry storyline. Why stretch out a story to fill 6 issues(or 4 in the case of the Sentry), when 2 or 3 will do?

Seriously, this latest issue, had it been done in the Silver-Age, would have taken less than two pages. No exaggeration!

Let me remind you, there were plenty of Canadian readers who faulted my portrayal of their home and native land -- because they assumed I was American, and so had to be getting it wrong. Not a month went by that I didn't get a small flurry of letters "correcting" my portrayal of Canada.

I've always loved the Alpha Flight characters from JB's X-Men issues but I wasn't a big fan of the series. I wanted it to be traditional superheroes at the time. In hindsight, I can see JB's point in not doing that. I started fading away after Guardian died. Haven't really cared about the book since...but I've got say, I'd plunk down some serious cash to have McNiven drawing a new series.

That character will most likely be back in a matter of a few issues, tops.
When the "little guys" get killed off they usually don't return unless the editors/writers plain forget that they're dead or a "red hot" writer wants to bring them back.
