All of these characters are among my all-time favorites. The only question is: Where are the original X-Men?

Great piece. These commissions just keep getting better and better.

"Is this a personal feeling, or some others here relate to this too ?"

And thus the fourth sign of the Apocalypse has been revealed as I find myself agreeing with Mr. Blot.

I usually see the Marvel characters and think Reed, Sue, Ben, Johnny, and Peter.  The only one pictured that I don't give his name to is Captain America, but I do think of him as Cap.  I hardly ever, if at all, think of the civilian names of Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman when I see them.

You just sold your soul to the Devil, Wayne :)

And I do agree too that Cap is here again an exception. Wich means at the
end 30/40's characters 'vs' 60's ones.

So what does it mean really ? That Steve Rogers or Bruce Wayne got less
personalities than Peter or Sue ? Humm. No. Is there something in the
costumes maybe ? Something inconscious that make a real difference at
the end between 40's characters and 60's ones ? Just wondering...

Well, in fact the non masked Fantastic Four is an obvious reason why we feel
more inclined to call them by their first names.

I have some of the same feelings that Wayne and David have.

The Marvel characters for me are more "friends" (no I am not insane) than the DC ones, even though I admire and enjoy the DC ones.

It would be neat if the buyer decided to get a companion piece of particular villains charging the heroes.

What up with that?

Aren't you down with the New Irony?

No, it just means that Stan, Jack, Steve, and the rest of early Marvel succeeded in what they set out to do - create super-heroes that dealt with some of the same problems in their civilian lives that the readers had as well, which made them more "real" and more "human" to the readers and easier to identify and identify with.  Not that hard to figure out, was it?
