His Silver Surfer limited series really effed me up as a kid. It really was like nothing I had ever seen before!

I haven't read a great deal from Moebius, my sampling of his work often leaving me feeling I'm too stupid to get it or maybe just not high enough ;) On a purely artistic level, though, ya just gotta recognize when confronted with such consummate craftsmanship. I've got his Silver Surfer graphic novel somewhere on my shelves, and perhaps more representative, the terrific wordless, surrealist fantasy ARZACH. And the guy is endlessly influential! I was skimming through the first few issues of Waid's LEGION relaunch the other day and saw that Barry Kitson had slipped in some background extras sporting those trademark Moebius phallic hats and several other trademark Moebius designy bits.

I should probably track me down some BLUEBERRY one of these days...
