Never been a huge X-Men fan, but wow...just wow.  And that is Daredevil.  Thanks for posting these.  It's such a pity that you aren't doing any work for Marvel any more.  So many cool characters to play with.  Hope you don't retire before a regime change.

No kidding. Is that Hawkeye/Witch image from a specific story?

The thing I like about Daredevil is his hand reaching out. It feels like a
fighter's pose and it also reminds me of a blind man reading with his
fingers.

(edit, the "no kidding" was refering to Gerry's comment)

Daredevil looks like he's about to kick my ass. All I can think when I look at that picture is "I'll talk! I'll talk! What do you want to know?" I like the short boots and gloves. Is his costume in that shot based on a particular time in Daredevil's career?

On the Hawkeye drawing: The bow seems shorter than I remember. Do I have a bad memory? Or did you intentionally make his bow shorter?

(All three look great!)

Great Pieces Mr. Byrne.  In the "Days of future past", does Havok's still alive?...i mean, in the poster behind, he's reported as "aprehended"....

The Scarlet witch Hawkeye is my favorite.  It makes me want to know the story.  Guess Im a sucker for the in between moments of the fighting.

Hawkeye and Scarlet Witch! Great commission. If I was to get something Hawkeye would have to be a part of it. My favorite character. Very well done. As are the others.

I like all three of those, particularly the Daredevil one.  Have you ever drawn Daredevil in one of your books?  I'm thinking he may have shown up in your "Everybody vs. Galactus" issue of FF, and of course there's the cover to the Marvel Handbook, but beyond that I can't think of a time you drew him.  Anyway, he sure looks nice here.

Beautiful, all 3.  The Hawkeye/Scarlet Witch piece just kills me that much more that there are no current Avengers titles I want to read.  Two of my all time favorite characters right there. Excellent work.

Now i have a question: Mr. Byrne, if someone asked you a comission of the oh, so famous, "Wolverine beats Galactus", would you do it?.

That would depend on how whore-ish I was feeling that day!

Over the years, especially at cons, fans have asked me for lots of stuff I considered out of character. Wolverine gutting Cyclops. Sue Storm posing nude. I always decline. (Alas, others do not. The guy who asked me to do Wolverine gutting Cyke, when informed that I would not do such a drawing, asked me to do Wolvering gutting a Hellfire goon. Pencil only. Should my spider-sense have tingled? You bet. I did the drawing, and the next day the guy returned to my table to show me the inked version. He'd given it to Terry, asking him to convert the goon to Cyclops -- which Terry did. To this day I wish I had ripped the page out of the guy's sketchbook and torn it up. Wouldn't that have made for a dandy "Bad Byrne Story"?)

The Hawkeye/Scarlet Witch piece is wonderfully enigmatic. I wonder, what were the instructions for it?

Wow, THAT is a Daredevil I would not want to mess with. If I was Turk I'd be
talking fast!

As others have commented, the Hawkeye / Scarlet Witch picture is
incredible. Wanda's look conveys so much. And, as I mentioned in another
thread when you posted a picture with SW, I love the way you draw her
costume.

Keep 'em coming!

Something that has been largely forgotten about Wanda is that she is a very shy and demure lady. Prim and proper, even. When Kirby designed her original look, her covered her from head to toe (remember the old "shopping bag" headdress?), and then wrapped a voluminous cape around her.

This is something I keep in mind when drawing her. Wanda is a gal who has most definitely got it, but she doesn't like to flaunt it.

I work with a lady like that.  Has it, bought more, and keeps it all covered up.

John,

In regards to your comment about Wanda's costume. What do you think about the "gypsy" redesign that George Perez did for Avengers vol. 3? I personally loved it, but I like all of the costume revamps that he does.

Really nice work John, Why thou wouldn't you do Wolverine gutting Cyclops ? I know he is one of the good guys and they shouldn't act like that however  I'm trying to think back over my years of reading X-Men to see if it's out of character for for Logan to do that. But i'm not seeing it be out of chracter for him. Wouldn't such a thing be possible if he was in a fit of rage?
Please if you wouldn't mind explaining why wouldn't he do that?
