If you're having trouble registering or otherwise accessing the forum, please contact me and I'll be happy to help you out. You can either leave a post in this forum or just e-mail at jeff@byrnerobotics.com.

*** IF YOU'RE HAVING TROUBLE POSTING REMEMBER: You must wait 24 hours after registering before posting to the forum. You will automatically be allowed to post after the waiting period has passed.

If you're having trouble trying to post from an iPhone or other device, your device's browser may not recognize our WYSIWYG editor. If you turn this feature off in your settings, you should be able to post from most hand-held computers. The procedure is as follows:

  1. Go to "Settings"
  2. Select "Edit Profile"
  3. Select No on "Enable the WYSIWYG post editor"
  4. Select "Update Settings"
After that, you should have no problems posting from the iPad or iPhone.

What is "< charset="utf-8">< charset="utf-8">" and is there any way to get rid of it?

Sorry, Paulo. I don't understand your question. Is there a problem and can you show me an example? I'll definitely look into it.

< charset="utf-8">When I quote another poster, the above is what happens. I'm posting from a MacBook Pro. It doesn't seem to happen when I post from other computers.

Sorry, not above in this case. Sometimes the "charset" code appears before the quoted text, sometimes before my post. Odd.

Has anyone figured out how to upload a picture to the forum from an
iOS device (iPad, iPhone, etc.)? The default Safari browser doesn't
allow access to the shared Photos storage area n the device, but
iCabMobile does, and I can upload photos to other forums and other
places around the net with iCabMobile, just not here. It allows me to
select the image, but the OK button remains grayed out.

Did the "hidden" links get removed?  Like clicking the Fantastic Four cover on the front page used to take you to the old forum posts of the issue by issue discussions...and there were other hidden links as well.

Just an FYI, I downloaded v.5.0.1 for my iPad2 and now I can post without having to change the WYSIWYG setting.

Hi Jeff!

I was wondering if there is any reason of why currenly seems like is not working the "send email when somebody post on this thread" tool?

(I'm not receibing emails when that happen, maybe I'm doing something wrong?)

Jeff,

It seems to take a while > 2 minutes to load the home page, same on several computers (PC, MAC, iPad).  When I go directly to the forum page it's faster, but the graphics take a while.  No problems on any other website.

Anyone else having this problem recently?

For reasons that I would prefer to discuss privately, would a moderator be kind enough to contact me directly on sadoldgothjimATgmailDOTcom …?

Many thanks in advance…

For the past week or so, I'm unable to access the forum via my iPhone or iPad. When I click on "Forum," it says "Access Denied." This has not been a problem prior to the past week or so.

Are threads locking faster than in the past?  I see topics that are just slightly older than two weeks are already locked.  That seems a bit premature; two weeks is still pretty current.

Topics that haven't had any activity or new posts in 15 days could get locked. That's the way it's been now for years. A moderator can always reopen a thread if there is sudden new interest.

This may be a dumb question, and I apologize for that. My
machine has Chrome on it, and my posts seem to be wrapping
prematurely as opposed to the page size. Does anyone know
enough about Chrome to know if this is something I can
change on my end, or is that just how it is? I would be
pleased to conform.

Hi Barry -- it has to do with the way Chrome handles an open text field. Are you using the WYSIWYG editor?

Having trouble seeing all but the initial post in a topic. After the lead post, everything but the avatars is black. This doesn't happen on the main page, just in individual topics.

I'm using Internet explorer through Microsoft 2013.

Come to think of it, I probably won't be able to read your response, Jeff. Could you e-mail me any suggestions? Many thanks.

I cannot create a new topic. This problem has existed as far as I know for about a week. Whenever I try, I get this error message:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80040e21'

Multiple-step OLE DB operation generated errors. Check each OLE DB status value, if available. No work was done.
