Perhaps someone will ask JB for a commssioned recreation of that cover, with the added request that Kirby be added!

------------------------------

I have a feeling that would be an extremely expensive commission, what with all the details an artist has to put into the faces.

"Terror in a Tiny Town" is actually my all time favorite FF story! It sums up Doom's twisted cruelty perfectly. Ben's heartwrenching moments were also top notch. Finally ...the ending with a powerless Doom running from a murderous, untiring, mob of robots ( seemingly forever) ....wow!

John ...it's been said many times but let me repeat it once more ...JOB WELL DONE!!

Great issue. My favorite scene is where Reen and Ben have their conversation on the hill overlooking the town. I always loved the interaction of these two best friends. Reed's speech was nice. I enjoyed it when Ben finally showed up at the lab. Great anniversary issue JB.

Michael you are correct. I have always enjoyed the way JB portrayed Reed and Ben's relationship.

The president of the school just sitting in the empty office gave me the creeps when I first read this.

Enjoyed this issue immensely when I first read it.  I agree that it did have a "Twilight Zone" like feeling.  I also love the scene with Doom at the piano and the miniture Sue looking at his face.  A Very Phantom of the Opera moment.

That was a great scene Yvonne.

I have a question JB that I thought of when I read Yvonne's post. When you drew Dr. Doom playing at the piano did you envision any particular piece of music he might be playing? What kind of music do you think Dr. Doom plays?

One of my favorite stories regardless of the medium - it's equal to films and
literature I love. If not better. I've re-read this several times over the years
and I never get tired of it. All the pistons are firing on story, art, dialogue -
just perfect.

I have two original pages of this story on my wall. It's the pages Chad
mentions above in whcih Ben doesn't want to go back to the real world.
That momnmet just blew my mind when I read it. So well done. Bravo, JB!

Something Wagnerian, no doubt!

What would Doctor Doom play?

I'm thinking Liszt, in particular the Mephisto Waltzes.

Ah, hell! I confess! It's "Piano Man".

It's nine o'clock on a Saturday,
And I'm hatching new plots by the hour.
Cuz I just want to see
Richards on bended knee,
And admitting I have all the power!
