Hat off to you yet again, JB!

Actually, my first thought upon seeing this commission was how great it'd be if JB did a Jean Grey piece á la the recent Dr Doom model, i.e. telling her developmental story in a page – Marvel Girl (in X-costume and in individual costume), plain Jean, Phoenix, Black Queen and culminating in Dark Phoenix as centerpiece. Now, goddammit someone with a cashflow and a Jean Grey passion follow up on this and order such a commission so that us other poor people can enjoy such an image! ;)

AMAZING!!!!!!
One of the best angry Dark Phoenix faces ever seen!
Just one thing, the right leg looks a bit short or fat to me. Maybe it looks better when seen in the real piece.
...anyway, I'd love to have this one in my wall...

She looks like she's ready to kill some Asparagus people in this shot. Love the pose and the sheer wickedness of her face. Great piece JB.

Maybe if they were more of a popular race of vegetable people, like, say, corn, Dark Phoenix would have spared them.

I too loved the crazed look. Can one ask what the requestor asked for in this commission?

Killing a race of Corn people would have just been cruel. Everyone loves corn! Those Asparagus people were up to something shady, if you ask me! They were asking to be attacked.

I wish she would have lived long enough to go after those Broccoli monsters.

Brussel Sprouts rule! Drizzle a mixture of bacon grease and cream over them and prepare for a treat. Now that planet of Beet people... even Galactus wouldn't want to eat that planet.

Too bad the Asparagus People didn't have a super team to fight the Phoenix. I can just see the battle royale: Dark Phoenix vs. the Amazing Aspara Guys!

"Think about it."
I'm assuming your thinking in Freudian terms, Mr. Byrne? As in the release of sexual orgone energies upon deflowerment being akin to Jean's transformation into the Pheonix (never having read the X-Men story in question, I'm working strictly on conjecture here)?
