Wow...it's beautiful. The first thing that came to mind was "Aparo inked by Byrne"!!!

Thanks, Ari! That's my favorite "moment" in the
whole piece. Ironically, it's something I at first
considered not doing, thinking it would be better to
have Batman's cape blowing up and around behind
the antennae support.

I like that Robin is drawn as wearing a full mask (that presumably ties around in back) as opposed to the mask he is normally depicted as wearing, which sort of magically applies itself to his skin.

Mr. Byrne sir hello I am graced by your most legendary, friendly, and talented presence! :) I have posted questions and appreciation for you in another thread since as of now I've been unable to start a new topic on this.

I would also ask, have you ever met Lucy Lawless and what do you think of Her? I think She would make a great Supergirl (She is blonde now). She was once at a comics event in May 2005 in LA and met some Marvel writers, and incredibly Sexxxily dressed, showing Her Bare Incredible Amazing Heavenly Sexxxy Perfect Stomach and Navel! :) I don't know if you were there but She met Stan Lee I believe and later last summer as well at the Comic Con event in San Diego late July.

Thank you. :)

David

The cape makes so much more sense as you have drawn it folding over especially as it is raining in the piece.  It jus adds a whole level of realism to this one.  You really outdid yourself John. As always when I see these, I have a new favorite.  It is just amazing.

Holy Crap!!!!

I absolutely LOVE this piece.  While I think that any piece that JB does is fantastic, I'm not a huge M****l fan so anytime a DC piece is done I am just blown away.

Looks awesome JB!!!!

Beautiful drawing John, good proportions for Batman (I um avoided writing Bats). Lucy is a Batman fan as well, She said She loved Christian Bale but Adam West is Her favorite.

Depends on how you define "normally", Stephen!

WOW!

I'm extremely envious of the person who gets this commission.....   Definitely one of the best.

Just when I think there's no way JB can top his last commission...

Ari, I'm with you on the cape foldfold.  I'm glad you decided to go that way, JB.

Joe, I dig the pipe texture, too.  Check out Two face's left pant leg though!

I prefer the full Robin mask as well, Stephen.
