I have just finished reading the Last Galactus story for the first time and I loved it even if the ending lacked pictures. However, in reading the text piece from these boards which explains how JB intended to end it, including the FF version, I found myself picturing the story as JB may have drawn it. Maybe I've been a fan for so long I'm beginning to think in JB art.
I have collected the story into my 22nd JB Library hardcover volume which I have titles Galactus and other big stuff. It contains the following material:
Galactus & other big stuff – John Byrne – Galactus from Epic Illustrated # 26 – 33, Marvel Preview : Starlord # 11, The Art of John Byrne, Rog 2000, Focus on John Byrne, The Sensational She-Hulk GN, Batman 3D, Comic Book Profiles # 5

do you have extra copies of the issues?
doesn't bounding damage the books?

I'll bet (SPOILERS) Nova-as-Galactus, or Doctor-Doom-as-Galactus (END SPOILERS) is a snazzy visual.

I don't have extra copies, I use my original comics when having them bound. Some may see this as damaging the comics, but to me it is an enhancement. Reading these collected volume adds something to the reading experience and as far as storage goes my entire JB collection takes up one and a half shelves.
And Jason "Yes he/she/it does".

With the bound comics, if there is an ad on the opposite page of a story page, it is included as well, right? I was wondering if the actual pages were bound or if they were reprodoctions of the pages. It's a neat idea, and something I may consider one day as I start weeding out my collection.

You are right, I remove as many of the ads etc as I can, but if an ad is on the back of art then it has to remain. As far as the Galactus story is concerned apart from some non-Byrne art on the first page, because the story started on the back of the first page, there were no other non-story pages in the binding.

I also printed out the text endings from this site and had them bound into the volume at the end of the story.

Some may see this as damaging the comics, but to me it is an enhancement.*** Absolutely agree, Ray! When I got my FFs bound, for instance, the copy I had of issue 2 was pretty ratty, with frayed edges and a badly creased cover. The trimming and pressing for binding restored it to really good condition, as well as making it simultaneously easy to find and easy to read! That it is now "worthless" in the collector/speculator market is to me of precisely zero consequence!

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I bought doubles of Generations 3 with the idea of having them bound with my First two Generations TPB's. The whole story (thus far) in one volume.

JB said, re: binding his FFs: That it [a bound copy of FF#2] is now

Oh, I don't know . . .have there been enough bound sets on the market that
one can determine they will go for less.
In your case, of course, a volume owned by John Byrne would probably have
an extra degree of marketability. If Jack Kirby had a bound set of, say, Boys'
Ranch, it'd certainly be worth more to me than the issues separately.
Granted, that says nothing for the market of the average bound volume
owned by Joe Fan . . .
