My name is Brian Allinson, I'm Gregg's brother.  I wanted to let you all know, since Gregg was such an active participant in this forum, that he passed away this past Saturday, the 16th at the age of 29.

Gregg's obituary can be found at: http://www.legacy.com/chicagotribune/Obituaries.asp?Page=Lif estory&PersonId=20353386

I know participating in this forum was an important part of his life.  You won't be hearing from him anymore, but I know he'll still be reading the forum from wherever he is now.

I'm so sorry, Brian.  Might I ask the circumstances, at least in general terms?

Oh my God.

I can't even believe this.

Gregg wasn't much older than me, and I've considered him a close online friend for as long as I've been here.

Please accept my deepest, most heartfelt condolences on your loss.

I was just thinking of Gregg the other day while reading his contribution to the Kingdom Come write up done by Joss Nevin and others. I always enjoyed reading the insights he posted to this forum.

My deepest sympathies to you and your family, Brian. Gregg will be missed here, but our loss pales in comparison to yours.

I am so sorry.

I'm stunned.

Gregg will be missed. I enjoyed his participation here greatly. I offer my condolences.

Too bad JB isn't here to say a few words, too.

RIP

I'm stunned. My deepest condolances to the Allinson family. To lose such a
great guy at such a young age - I just don't have the words for this. Gregg
was really wonderful to talk with during my visit to Chicago and he was a
voice I always listened to here in the forum. This is just heartbreaking.

Gregg was a great guy. I had the chance to hang with him at Wizard World a couple of years back. A true fan... and a sharp headed dude. We sat and talked about my upcoming novel for hours in the hotel bar. It was a real blast.

He will be missed.

Godspeed Gregg.

.  To lose someone so young is tragic and to lose them during the holiday season must amplify that passing even more.  Sincere condolences to the entire Allinson family.

Oh, Lord. I can't believe this.

I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes.

Gregg was a stand-up guy and an asset to this board. He was always a welcome presence in the Saturday night chats. My most sincere condolances to you Brian, and to your entire family.

R.I.P. Gregg

There are no words, yet, I make a feeble effort.

Gregg was one of the best.  Fellow ...everything.  Fellow Byrne fan.  Star Wars fan.  KISS fan.  Pop culture fan.  Fellow myspacer.  Frequent e-mail correspondant.

I feel that the world is less without Gregg.  I'm sure he'd want us to go on and thrive and enjoy things.  Enjoy Star Wars and KISS and John Byrne and post funny things about Snakes on a Plane on myspace and what-not, and that time may come, but for now... now the world is a smaller, darker place without Gregg.

I'm so sorry he's gone.

I am at a total loss for words.

Gregg and I had such fun discussing places in Brookfield and LaGrange we
both knew, and had talked about getting together to meet in person the
next time I was in Chicago. That I'm not going to have the opportunity to
meet him just crushes me.

Brian, I am so sorry for you and your loss. I join the chorus of JBF members
who will truly miss his insights, his humor, and, well, just his daily presence.

Rest in peace, Gregg.

I am stunned. I also send out my hearfelt sympathies, and thank you for letting us know.

I liked Gregg's presence on the board a lot, and always thought he had great musical taste as well.

He'll be missed.
