i'll miss seeing. "
Indeed. Does anyone have a picture of him they can please share?
...from his myspace pics....

Iosing someone you know online has a strange unreality of it's own, and
i'm sure it'll be a long time before we stop expecting/wishing we could
'see' what Gregg thinks on so many differant threads.
*****
How very, very true. I was just looking over some old threads in which he'd posted, and I'm having a hard time looking at his posts. They're like moments frozen in amber.

On the obit page (linked in Brian's original post), there is a public guestbook feature for those who would like to share thoughts that might be read by Gregg's family and friends.
Very sad news. Yet another reminder to cherish each day and opportunity to appreciate life...relish each opportunity...

I am indescribably touched and overwhelmed by the kind and heartfelt responses from you all. I can't tell you how much it truly means to me (and I know I can speak for my parents on that too) during this extremely difficult time. Seeing what has been written thusfar is confirmation of what we have already come to understand in these past few days - that Gregg was a meaningful and positive part of so many peoples' lives. Even though many of you never had the occasion to meet or "talk" to him or didn't know what he looked like, I've been around internet forums and chat rooms enough to understand the sense of community that can develop and the true friendships that can be established.
I would like to respond to and thank you all personally, but to address a few specific people at the moment:
Jay: Suffice it to say, he died peacefully at home.
Frank: That is an incredibly kind offer on your part, and no it's not a bad idea or something that I would tell you not to do. If anyone has an interest in taking Frank up on his offer, I know I personally (and again, I think I can speak for my parents on this) would be grateful to read any message of condolence or memories of Gregg that you'd want to be given to us. However if no one feels a need to do that, then I would completely understand. I (and my family) will also keep reading this thread and the Guest Book for Gregg's online obituary, and I can also be reached by e-mail.
Steven: Thank you for posting the picture of Gregg, it's a nice one (yes, it does say "Tim" on his shirt, but it really is Gregg. That's Gregg for you...). It's one of my/our mom's favorites. It's also in the photo album linked to from the Guest Book for Gregg's online obituary to which we may add more pictures as time goes on. There is also another picture of him here on the board at http://www.byrnerobotics.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=45&am p;PN=1&TPN=4 .
From the bottom of my heart, thank you to all.
-Brian

Gone far too soon. R.I.P. Gregg.
He was one of those people whose avatar were amongst the most aknowledgable in this place. I enjoyed reading his posts. He will be missed.
Sincere condolences to his family.

Once again, I never met Gregg, but one evening we were the only two in the chat room and "chatted" at length. Greg struck me as quite witty and I too will miss the interaction.
Brian, my condolences to you and your family.

Let me add my condolences to those expressed by everyone else. It is sad and tragic news, and the only positive is to know the he touched the lives of many people here, and we are better for knowing him.
My prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.

The first time I remember talking with Gregg was him thanking me for spelling his name right. He was a stand-up guy, and will be missed.

Brian – echoing so many others in here: thanks for informing us and my deepest condolences to you and your family.
And Gregg – R.I.P. You will be remembered!
Frank – I think you're presence at the funeral, representing this world-wide community would be a great gesture. It shows that not only was this forum important to Gregg, but that he, in fact, was important to this forum. Something that I'd venture would mean a lot to his family. Seeing that I have no chance of attending myself (being on the other side of the Atlantic), I'd be honoured to be represented by you and anyone else from the forum who feels so inclined. I have no specific message to the family, other than that Gregg was an appreciated member in here and in the discussions we've both been involved I have definitely enjoyed his presence. The forum has lost something. And he won't be forgotten.

Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there... I do not sleep. I am the thousand winds that blow... I am the diamond glints on snow... I am the sunlight on ripened grain... I am the gentle autumn rain. When you waken in the morning's hush, I am the swift uplifting rush Of gentle birds in circling flight... I am the soft star that shines at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry— I am not there... I did not die...
... an Irish Blessing...
my deepest condolences to those close to Gregg...
