Went to R40 in Toronto last Wednesday night.
Had a great time (got smashed).
Lots of 2112, closed with Working Man.

And the first ever performance of "Losing It"!

Just rewatched RUSH: BEYOND THE LIGHTED STAGE on Netflix, for only the second time since it was first released back in 2010...

...what a stellar documentary. Can't imagine how they could have done it any better. I really love how warm and self-effacing the guys come off in the film. Good, good stuff.

Shaun, was the dinner scene included? I have it on dvd and it`s one of the extras,Alex comes off as a real comedian and the cameraderie between the 3 guys really comes across.Brilliant documentary.

Hey Bill -  I was the Alan Moore guy! I was a bit annoyed with myself for not getting the Simpsons one - I didn't listen to the question properly and just gave the answer to the question that I thought I heard! It's a lot harder in the big chair, than at home, though, I can tell you!

(Normally just lurk on the JBF, but always enjoy reading the site!)

Well done David.

I was on the Weakest Link once and went out first round. It is indeed more difficult in the studio. One question was their fault, the second was mine as I was still processing the first error.
The first question was what colour is used on public toilets when they are vacant - my mind was stuck on 'there is no universal colour' but I had to choose green or white. I went with white, they went with green. The toilets in the studio went with purple, but there you go (because there is no universal colour).
The second question was about cricket about which I know nothing and I muddled a no ball vs a wide. So out I went.

I took part in a mock Weakest Link on a tour of the BBC TV Centre a few years ago,it was me against 3 other tourists, and was not much like the real thing, the questions were based on a clip of Little Britain,so i aced it! I won a life changing prize...a `BBC Breakfast` mug and a BBC pen! The thing i remember most,is seeing the Saturday morning rehearsals for Strictly Come Dancing from a viewing gallery, and being struck by how short sighted Bruce Forsythe was! His autocue was virtually one huge word per screeen...`NOW` `HERE`S` `WESTLIFE`!

Oh dear, mention of Westlife in a Rush thread, must get back on topic!
I`ll be getting the R40 live bluray on November 20th!

So here I am in South Africa watching a TV show that I have no idea what it is.

It's a cop show, don't know which and there isn't anything to tell me what it is.

BUT ..... some of the cops are going to a Rush signing and concert. And the band actually appear - it seems to be promoting R40.

Just watched the R40 live bluray which was released in U.K. today,3 hours of joy! Great song choices, great musicianship and sadness that they are unlikely to tour Europe ever again! One thing struck me...Alex needs to ditch the Shatner-esque toupe,he`s kidding nobody!

His once hairless crown seems too hirsute for plugs! It`s his choice, but i just think rock stars should age gracefully, the `None More Black` and `Chestnut Brown` hair dye,Pirate head scarves and dodgy hair pieces just look ridiculous.

There`s a great `lyric video` on Youtube of Nerf Herder`s `The Girl Who Listened To Rush`.It`s guaranteed to bring a smile to a Rush fan`s face!
