I watched Mania, it was fine given the circumstances but wrestling without audience reactions is tough to watch. The matches were all solid, although I do think the results were unusually safe, probably to save big changes for later when there's a more engaged audience.

Am not happy at all with the results of Goldberg vs. Strowman, since it was so short and you just know that belt is getting dropped to Roman Reigns the next PPV he wrestles at.

I have to say they've done a really good job with the build up to Edge vs. Orton. Other than his finisher, I think Orton is as boring as dry toast, while Edge is the reverse (ie, charismatic and talented as they come, but his finisher is crap) but I really want to see that match.

I take back what I said about there only being 3 matches from night two I didn't want to see. After reading up on what went down, change that to only one match I want to see:  Drew McIntyre vs. Brock Lesnar.

From what I've read, Wyatt vs. Cena might very well go down as an all-time classic. And by `classic', I mean like the way the whole Katie Vick angle was a classic!

(Apologies for reminding anyone of the whole Katie Vick crap.)

Hey Brian, on behalf of everyone reminded of Katie Vick.

ew.
;-p

On another note, I did watch the Benoit doc. Yeah, it was heartbreaking. But I did learn some things.

Also watched the Macho Man/Elizabeth one. That one was more fun to watch with a less sad ending. Though it did end how we all know it ended

Firefly Funhouse and the Broken/Woken stuff idk it is what it is no different
from the little mini movie stuff WCW did or vignettes of the past not my thing
but I am also getting to the point where what is wrestling now isn't for me.
AEW occasionally pulls me back in but doesn't hold my attention. When its
good its good but when its bad its awful.

I give Cena credit for doing it prob wasn't what he signed up for originally and if
anyone could have said no way were having a match it would have been Cena.

But it was nowhere near Katie Vick bad or the Kane rapist thing w Lita.

Oh, NOTHING they've ever done is as bad as Katie Vick or the Kane-Lita angle. I meant that its an all-time `classic' for being crap like those (and Mae Young giving birth to a hand and Vince making Trish bark like a dog) were.

A lot people were not happy that Cena returned for that and not an actual match.  The only good thing about it to me was seeing what Cena would have looked like as an nWo member.

And apparently someone (don't know if it was the WWE or a fan) made a Cena nWo Titantron video. The problem with it is that it incorporates the Hustle Loyalty Respect logo as well as the nWo one. That wouldn't have been appropriate for Cena to use as a member of that stable....

*edited to add* The Boneyard match took 8 hours to film.

I don't mean to turn this thread political but because of the pandemic felt it was worth mentioning...

"World Wrestling Entertainment was deemed an "essential business" in Florida on Monday, allowing the company to resume live television shows from its Orlando training facility and Full Sail University in Winter Park."

Moreover, Fl. governor DeSantis, USA Network & Fox could put an end to this, but chose not to. (WWE's Fox TV contract is $205 million per year.)

This sure is not a pro-life decision.

It will be interesting to see how WWE emerges from this ... there TV contracts
will not be renewed for the same prices, no live touring over two months at
least, the loss on WM revenue and merchandising, the XFL which they had a
minority stake in at 23% just folded, firing two high up executives before the
shutdown orders, low low ratings and no Saudi Arabia money coming in for
awhile and their stock is way lower than it was a few years back. And lets be
honest overall the public could not give a fuck about wrestling in general
without a pandemic now w one they are doing 3 tv shows a week w no
audience and no touring, no storylines, and a hodgepodge lineup it's showing
the weakness of the product even more.

Only a few of those releases are major surprises. But Chioda has to be the biggest.

Hopefully Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, EC3, Lio Rush, Heath Slater and Sarah Logan end up in AEW. (I don't get the channel Impact is on, haven't watched it in years, and like AEW a lot better right now.)

Zach Ryder Russev and few others got added to that at list.

I cant see AEW picking up all of these guys but if shit ever goes back to normal
AEW may end up w a very healthy line up. Plus you have to consider if NWA
MLW Chikara and Impact not being able to weather a multi month shut down.
