Classic issue. This entire storyline was great. The art of course was
tops..and the story was spectacular! Great seeing/reading Sue's thoughts on
how she thought Doom was above "mere" physical abuse of a Woman..but
would kill her.
After seeing Doom "at home" in the prior issue concocting this plan it was
great seeing how it was to be played out.
Very good issue.

Great stuff! All over great stuff! Doom, Tyros, neat shots of Mr Grimm.
Nice to see the Sharon and Johnny thing going on, etc, etc. This is
definitely FF as they should be. O so good that my mouth is watering.

That may be my favorite illustration of the Surfer, ever. I don't like when artists draw him standing straight up while flying; I think he would position himself much like JB illustrated when willing the board forward (especially in an atmosphere).

As great as the covers for #258 and #259 are, #260's cover still blows me away. Can't wait until next week.

Another great issue.
This batch of issues showed that a good FF story didn't necessarily have to involve Reed. It was fun to see Sue step up to the plate as leader of the team.

My favorite drawing of the Thing is the one of him hurtling through the supermarket. That made a huge impression on me as a lad when the issue originally came out and made me an instant fan of Terrax.

I know JB is constantly tinkering with his style to avoid stagnating-- But IF his inking was ever going to stagnate and get stuck -- I wish it had been right here. I think these issues, beginning with the ALL-DOOM story going up to the point where someone else took over (Ordway?) are the all-time greatest inks I've ever seen.
These issues did hit right in the bread-basket of my "golden age" of comic reading-- but MAN! The combo of styles I see here-- the grit on Johnny's floors, the intricate shading in Doom's armor, the texture of that Taxi interior, the detail of dirt in Terrax's wave of earth-- everything sits perfectly with everything else. These pages have a completeness that I never get tired of. Instead of looking at comic panels, the inks bring a balance that seems to indicate every single ATOM represented here-- it's like looking through a window into a complete world.
These issues came in my subscription and my reaction was immediate. I didn't think I COULD like Byrne's art more than I already did, but these issues hit me like a cannonball.
