Trivia: Except for Sue, Ben, Johnny, the Skrull, Lilandra and Gladiator, all the faces on the cover (and the matching page inside) were drawn directly in ink, with no pencil underdrawing. Same with the "other Galactuses" in the montage.

Brilliant way of getting around the Asst. Editor's Month zaniness!

As well as a great final word in the "should Galactus pay for his crimes" fight
going on at the time in Marvel Comics.

AND, I *love* the fact all of those aliens were drawn in ink! That's crazy!
All of these, plus your "alien stampede" we see above, shows how great you
are with imagining aliens.

Inventing aliens is fairly simple -- just keep telling yourself "not a guy in a rubber suit, not a guy in a rubber suit."

Of course, many Marvel aliens were already precisely that, so I felt obliged to occasionally continue the "tradition".

An immortal classic.  A cosmic story couched in the most seemingly mundane of things, the life of a single man and the repercussions of his ideals.

My favorite line of dialogue (of many!) in this issue:  "ODIN?!  Holy frijoles!  The Watcher must have sent The Torch to ASGARD!!"

I have the original art for that splash page up on my wall, and it looks GLORIOUS in b&w.  My favorite piece in my (tiny) collection.

A mind-blowing issue! One of my absolute favorite comics of any series ever.

JB definitely had a clever idea here to keep in the offbeat nature of "Assistant Editor's Month" without detracting from the serious nature of this story.
