I figure Sentinels have some visible "muscles" -- possibly to make them
appear more human and thus less terrifying to people who are not their
quarry -- just not body-builder cuts.

Agreed, way to bulky and defined.  I like a more flexible/rubber-limbed look for the Sentinels, if that makes sense.

Sorry, that's the biggest photo across the street so far, Ben.

Bowen did a nice job (altho I settled for a bust, rather than a full-fig.)

Yeah, that's what I was hoping for with the figurine.  Maybe I can Dremel down some of the muscles.

It just arrived from UPS/Midtown and came right out of the box that way.  That little flake is dried glue.  I was slightly impressed that he was packaged with a little white foam to cushion his head.  Bummer on the results, but it will be an easy fix.  Glue and repainting the grey feathers under his chin.

Again, so far the only damage I've experiences has been a few slight bends,
easily fixed.

(I commented in the DC thread that the EM figures for those characters
seem to be painted more "sloppily" than their Marvel cousins, and that's
looking to be the most "damage" so far. Whoever painted Superman's hair,
for instance, got a small stroke on his cheek. Robin's mask is out of true.
GL has white slopping out of his chest emblem.)

No one really to blame on this one, it could have happened any time.  UPS does take the slow boat in getting here, with a side trip to Los Angeles from New York, before heading to the Bay Area.  There's probably more handling involved there.

Funny, I've purchased and painted lead/pewter figures since I was 12 years old, most of them just floating loose in a plastic bubble and card-back.  I've had way fewer breaks and bends on those few hundred figures than the 50-60 figures from Eaglemoss, despite the packaging on them.  The size and weight on the big guys must cause a lot more shifting and banging around.
