hope this OT thread is ok?
thru his agent,Renee Witterstaetter, i commissioned a piece from Michael Golden last October.i was promised in writing a delivery date of a month and a half.Since then ive received another 4 promised delivery dates all of which have failed to materialise.Since finding out that there was a lot of us in the same boat,a few of us got together and as a united front we were all given firm promises of a delivery date.my art came today.to say im annoyed is an understatement. This cost me $537 . . . (and he cant even spell virtue)
i phoned renee today, who got quite heated, stating she hadnt seen the art as Golden had shipped it himself. Its her signature on the customs declaration !
any thoughts or comments on this? is there anything i can do to get my money back?

Horribly unprofessional. Stuff like this is why people are scared to purchase commissions.

I'm sad to hear this shit go down... especially from an artist I admire too...
That, in my opinion is not a commission... it is a message from an unprofessional attitude...

Wow. Unbelievable. If I read this correctly, you've been anticipating this for at least all of this year, and you get a lecture on patience?
I can only imagine how disappointed you must be, Gerry. That's just asinine.

Sadly Gerry, This kind of thing can happen when you're dealing with "artistes" I went trhough somehting similar with some custom swords I had made. I can sympathise.

That sucks, Gerry. I hope you find a way to make this all work out in your favor (such as getting your money back).

actually worth $500.

Un-fucking-believable.
That really sucks, Gerry...how did you pay? If you used a credit card, you may be able to get them involved, by complaining that you didn't receive the goods you contracted for.

Wow, I would be very sad to have received that, from someone I am sure you used to respect. What are you going to do with it Gerry? Its not a picture I would be very proud to show off.

Thanks for posting this, Gerry. I'm now removing Michael Golden from my
list of artists I plan on getting commissions from if I ever get the
money to do so.
If you can't get your money back or he won't send you what you actually
asked for, best thing you can do is hit him in the wallet by posting
what happened everywhere you can think of, which will make a lot of
people think twice about dealing with him.

OUCH! That isn't too cool. I would think you could dispute these charges if you paid through a credit card. In this case it is sometimes better not to have any contact with ones heroes.
