Other than on the Stan Lee book, I wasn't aware Buscema did any work for DC. Now if we can just get Kubert and Garcia-Lopez over on a couple of Marvel titles...

Did Sal and John Buscema ever work on a book together?

And FF after JB, too.

I'll be honest: as a kid, I never was a John Buscema fan. But I wasn't very lucky: I read only his issue of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, where I didn't like his version of my favorite hero.
I preferred Sal's style. I loved his work on SPECTACULAR, MARVEL TEAM UP, HULK...

I still love what Sal did for Marvel, but growing up I learned to love John's stuff, too. Around my 20 years, I discovered his Conan, then his Silver Surfer. Wow. Especially this was something awesome. Oh, and recently I was looking at his ASM issues... now I'm pretty sure that in most of the panels Spider-Man was drawn by Jim Mooney.

Forgive me, Mr. Buscema, if I loved your work so lately.

To me John was all about Conan.

Apparently on John Buscema's THOR run in the 70s, Sal Buscema inked him...but I'm having trouble finding exact issues right this second.

I'd always thought it was Palmer on the Thor stuff. Sal did ink Big John on his
short but stunning Silver Surfer run and issue four, arguably one of the best
comics ever drawn, featured Thor and Asgard, which might be where the
confusion, if any, exists.

If you don't have them then the Essential Silver Surfer book is, well,
essential. It has them in black and white so the artwork is even better!

When I was younger I always thought of John Buscema as the Conan guy. I never read Conan, so I never was exposed to much John Buscema. I recently read the Silver Surfer Omnibus and I can see where all the hub-bub is about. I look forward to seeing more of his stuff. God bless reprints!

Didn't John and Sal work together on Avengers early on?
