Thing is, if you watched those episodes on broadcast TV, for which they were intended, that mustache was not so "evident".
**********
Like Brad, I never noticed the mustache until much later. Probably after reading about it on this forum I would guess.

I used to fake sick Sunday mornings so I could skip church and watch the old Batman show on the local station. I was young enough I thought they were playing it straight but I still managed to notice the mustache.
Either we play into the fantasy, or we don't. And if we don't, why bother?
They're based on the TV show. Romero had a grease covered mustache. Would you give the Adam West Batman nice abs?

I wouldn't give him bad ones. That thick utility belt gave the illusion of a thick waist. Adam West wasn't fat. Sure, he wasn't built like some modern body builder, but most actors back then weren't. That wasn't the standard back then.

Re: Poison IvyIt says a lot about the current shape of fandom that, not all that many years ago, this was a character utterly rejected as "too goofy" to be part of Batman's rogues gallery. Batman being a SERIOUS character, after all. Then Bruce Timm gave us an Ivy who was SEXY, and suddenly the fanboys loved her.

LOL I always think back to that episode of the Simpsons and that quote.
Interesting about Poison Ivy being considered goofy. I had no idea. I had never heard of the character before the animated series and I admit that she is one of my favorites, as is Harley Quinn. I guess Timm just had a solid way of writing female characters for me. That piece is just neat.
In regard to Romero's mustache, I guess I always recognized it, but never thought it was a big deal. I didn't know until '89 (Burton movie) when I was 15 that the white skin wasn't makeup. I loved the TV show as a kid, so I guess I am torn.

I don't think Burgess Meredith's nose prosthetic was as noticeable as Romero's mustache and while I'll agree that West wasn't fat that pic isn't from 1966.

I always thought that the Premium Format Figures were posable, but that's clearly a statue. What's the difference between the Premium Format Figures and the other formats, like the Comiquette? Do the PFFs use mixed media, like fabric costumes?

Has anyone seen a price for the Superman premium format figure from Sideshow? Batman is out of my range at $400 (mainly because I can't stand the base); I'm hoping Superman is the normal $350.
I can't believe I'm considering paying $350 for a figurine.
edit: The Sideshow premium statues have fabric costumes. Hot Toys makes poseable action figures/dolls/toys that have cloth costumes as well (I think they're in the $100-$200 range).

Prior to this thread I did not know Ceaser Romero had a mustache as the Joker. I've only seen the series as a child on a small TV. Live and learn.

Looks like You're having a great day today Ryan!
-Bill Roberge, earlier today in the New Art thread
******************* Well, Bill, it just got even better! Two unexpected gifts were given to me today. This was waiting for me when I got home tonight. My son has already tried to lay claim to it, but he will just get to borrow it now and again.
Courtesy of the aforementioned Mr. Roberge, I give you Guardian!
Many thanks for the surprise, Bill!! And I'm glad the girls got to spend some time with him and get to know my favorite of all superheroes!
I love the people around here!

Steve, I purchased him at a local comic shop. It was made by ElectricTiki and featured him in his early 50's look as well as one his retro mid 30's look.

Cool. Thanks for the info, John I do like what ElectricTiki has done. I have a Dick Tracy and The Phantom statue from them. They also have a awesome Doc Savage statue.
It is going to be a tough call with those Popeye's. They are really cool.

I haven't opened it yet, but at least they made Puck look short through the window. And on the back...hope I don't have to wait long for these!
