The perfect gift for the John Byrne fan who thinks his work needs a lot of "correction."

It would almost make sense to market it as the "Nelson" Superman.

And….. I hope my Superman never looked that prissy!

The face is way off. It looks like they tried to put a Garcia-Lopez face on it and failed!!

I'm beginning to think that Jim Maddox is the only person that should be allowed to make Byrne-based statues.

For me the two biggest issues I have with it are the face and the seem at the shoulders, both of which I hope to attempt to correct when the statue arrives. DC has given me a project

I’ll never get the common trope of having shirts and pants so tight that
every micrometer of muscle definition is revealed, but emblems and boots
are sticking out 1-2 inches like they’re made of foam rubber.

What I still have a hard time wrapping my head around is if you are going to base a piece upon an artist's work and have that artist's name attached to it, if the artist is still alive should he or she not be consulted in the very least? All it takes is a phone call or an email. In my opinion, lazy on DC's part. I'll be honest JB, surprised me that you had not been notified of it's existence. Is this common place?

While the face is not too bad, IMHO, it is NOWHERE NEAR
what JB drew. JB drew the handsomest Man of Steel I have
ever seen...better looking than JLGL or Neal Admas, even.
I think Christopher Reeve would've been flattered by JB's
art.

That being said, I've seen a lot worse representations,
both in print and on collectibles. The current trend tends
to have Superman scowling. That figure does evoke that
last page of the limited series, though.

Yeah, that face has no traces of George Reeves or Christopher Reeve

“I’ve seen a lot worse” falls somewhere short of a sterling endorsement!

Coincidentally I just add this one next to the "Invincible" one.

Not a fan of the darker shade of the cape, but apart from that, that one is pretty good.
