There are a few instances where artists added highlights, but I'd have to search them out.

JB, those are both clearly black, reflecting the natural light above as whitish highlights (though the first one appears to be muted light, maybe an overcast day, so it's not as stark white as the Underworld photo, but still clearly not blue).  Here's a good scan of a pre-photoshop era color comparison.  Storm's punk outfit is shiny black leather, and the highlights found on her form are white as they should be.  Cyclops is blue, with the portions of him away from lighting represented with shadow.

Ok, I agree with you there, but generally a lighter black is considered a shade of grey (like Black Panther's modern outfit).  Still not blue though.  Here's a decent pic I found of a Nightcrawler shot where his skin (fuzzy blue) is contrasted next to his black body glove (highlighted with white lines in the neck):

I'm told Kirby originally wanted the beam to be blue, which would have solved that problem --- tho I suppose then we would have people insisting it was icy cold!

I have to quote myself from above, because I see how that logic can be used in this example.  Unfortunately, the coloring of black hair with blue highlights is an incorrect tradition that seems to contradict other things in the very same panel.
