Interesting, Joel, I read it at one point as a request that we not try to guess the ownership. Even though I couldn't see why not, since it so obviously had to be Ari's. I mean are there any Batman pieces out there that aren't Ari's? At least eventually.

My first ever con sketch!!! Red Sonja by Joe Jusko, done at Supernova this past weekend. This was the first time the con has come to Perth (capital of Western Australia), and apparently ticket sales for both days and Friday night's preview session were so huge that it's a shoo-in for next year. Hooray!

We had Howard Chaykin (hell of a nice guy to talk to - everything I expected), Joe Jusko (also a champ), Ben Templesmith, David Yardin and Gary Chaloner as the comics guests. The last three were all great to see and yak to, because they're hometown guys from Perth with a great local perspective on our favourite medium. Howard reviewed my portfolio, gave me the crit I expected, as well as a fresh determination to work on my technical aspect, and the whole show was a hoot.

Cheers! Mal

My computer keeps freezing up every time I try using the scanner. However, I managed to scan one of the sketches I picked up over the weekend in Chicago. I'll have more to follow in the coming days. I'm on vacation and I'm feeling too lazy to mess around with my computer.

Cool sketch, Paul. Don't think I saw that one this weekend. Wish I was on vacation. I'm exhausted.

I'm exhausted as well, Roger. I was waiting on my last sketch when the con was closing. After eating and hitting traffic (on a freakin Sunday) I didn't get home until 2AM.

Paul-
What did I miss? Good year at the con or bad? Same old, same old, or noticably different?
Wake up and spill it, sleepy-boy!

Dave I think the show was much better than it had been in previous years. There were some typical scheduling mistakes with signings and a few no shows, but it was run smoother than previous years. Traffic seemed higher than usual. With almost all the big guests having booths in artists alley, that was even hard to get around on Saturday.

After three straight years of not seeing Chuck Dixon, I found him. The bad news is I had already packed my books for the day. The good news, he did this sketch for me.

I had a chance to meet the guys behind Moral Orel. one of which is Scott Adsit of 30 Rock fame. The good, Scott did a little doodle for me. The bad, Dino Stamatopoulos (the creator of the show) decided to give me a sketch as well. He traced on the back of my Humberto Ramos sketch.

Current Legion of Superheroes artist, Francis Manapul was selling his sketch books. Complete with a sketch of your choosing.
