Ari purchased a Liefeld Batman. Attacking the piece or hoping he didn't spend too much money on the piece is disrespectful. This thread is for art collectors to showcase what they have in their collection and we should be grateful they share with us. Just because you might not like the artist or the piece someone is displaying doesn't make it open for attack. This type of behavior is what caused the last new art thread to be closed. I hoped we would have learned from that. I love seeing what other people have in their collection. I would love to keep that tradition going.

Agreed Paul.

I'm no fan of Liefeld, but this kind of criticism may discourage people from posting things in the future.

My apologies to Aric, no offense intended.

As for the similarities to a Jim Lee piece, I have to disagree. While both guys use a style that relies on heavy hatching and tick lines, the proportions aren't as similar. This piece is distinctly Liefeldian; the reason this may feel familiar is that it's a commonly used pose for superhero characters. Fists clenched, slightly crouched, tough guy expression, etc.
