A couple of pick ups from Free Comic Book Day.  Starting with a Captain America from Dan Davis:

I'm in the process of scanning all of my original art after picking up an oversized scanner. Since Pelletier's name has recently been brought up and he is right up there with Hardman on my artist mancrush list, I figured that I'd post the 3 pages I picked up a few weeks back. First up is Incredible Hulk #606, page 3. Miki apparently has begun demanding that pencils be scanned and sent to him, rather than to do it on the original page. The con is that it is "unfinished". The obvious pro is that all of Pelletier's details are there in magnificant view. The guy's skills are amazing and I loved this page for nostalgia purposes alone...

Next up is a beautiful splash that I wanted as soon as I saw it in print. Though Banner with a gun is very offputting to me, Pelletier's art sucked me right in. Extra fun news is that my beautiful splash page became beautiful cover art as of last week, after Marvel reprinted the issue with a variant cover... this piece!

This page is a follow-up and full-on action piece with the heroes taking on the baddies. Pelletier has solid story-telling skills and his eye for detail is mind-blowing. I also enjoyed his side note, which would be covered in black when inked, of "I hate drawing small!".

This art was used for some toy featuring Roger The Homunculus.

Are you going to track down a copy of the toy?

Pelletier's work is so wonderful, I gotta track down more of his work. Any recommendations, good art and story combos?

He did some great work for Crossgen, before heading to Marvel and his Exiles stuff is stunning. I absolutely adored his FF run. My first 2 pages from him came from that run, because I loved it so much.

Fantastic Four #548, page #13:

Fantastic Four #548, page #14. Nice little touch is that he gave the Thing fingernails while depicting him....

Pelletier is amazing, he made me read the messed up stories of the Hulk.
