Of course now it's got me wondering what would Batman do, if it was him
instead of Captain America.

••

Batman might be in the Iron Man pose, clutching his chest. Unfortunately,
the smoke would be rising from his back. . .

JB -- I just noticed the lack of Nega Bands and shorter hair on your Captain Mar-Vell -- was this a specific request by the commissioner or your homage to the Neal Adams version of Mar-Vell from the Avengers Kree-Skrull War story (again)?

Looking back for the nega-band info then seeing another part of a post is making me ask this (non-artist please be gentle)

JB:  In your pencils/inking is there any difference  if Mar-Vell was a blond or white haired?

Fantastic!  I'm not a die-hard Avengers fan but this was a great way to capture one of the better line-ups the team has had over the years.

Hugely impressed that JB is a fan of Giles.  My family had all the original annuals going back to 1945 (?).

The Thanos peice is so good its upsetting.  Is there a thread anywhere that details how much a JB commision goes for?

••

My grandfather gave me my first Giles annual, when I was about six years
old. It was from 1949 It began a long passion for collecting his work,
including, eventually, all the annuals, and which reached a kind of fruition
when, in what amounted to a very short span of time, about six years ago
I was able to accumulate no less than seven Giles originals!

If you click on the orange banner at the top of this section, you will be
put in touch with Jim Warden, my art dealer, who can provide you with
sizes and prices. Happy shopping!
