I just recently finished reading all of Kirby's Essential Fantastic Four, and I
can't see Reed Richards without seeing George Clooney. I think it's the eyes,
but I think Clooney looks like he could be a Kirby drawing.

Never really thought of it before but I can sure see the resemblance.

Clooney has been suggested before as Reed, and while I certainly think he
would be a better choice than anyone else yet cast in the role -- and I agree
he has the look of a Kirby character -- he doesn't quite work for me.

Clooney in Leatherheads looks just like Frank Miller's Dark Knight to me.
Same look in the eyes.

Give him a patch and a cigar and he might make a good Nick Fury as drawn by Kirby.

Shouldn't this be in the movie section?

As for the Essentials book, Kirby was on his A game illustrating those books.  Essentials 1 is filled with masterpieces.

I think if an FF movie was like a good FF comic and just started fast an
furious and kept going like that to the end, Clooney could be a good Reed. I
think he could do the frantic, strong and confident Reed who never slows
down pretty well.

Nah, I think he can play a good crook, and a Doctor in a hospital.  The pick you've chosen looks more like Jeffrey Hunter than George Clooney.

The entire time I was watching Solaris I was thinking this guy should be Reed Richards.
