Wayne really liking this series.  Really liked the opening splash page with the one guy telling the other to run fool!  Great stuff!

I was wondering, does FX have to concentrate all the time for his constructs or is it once he imagines it it's there until he thinks something else?  Probably missed that somewhere.  Thanks.

AWH! You guys are just saying it's so much better than issue #1 to drive me nuts faster right?  ;)

But I'm sure FX can only get better in the able hands of the WO & JB team.* The set up in the first issue, is after all, classic and built to open up for more fun as it rolls along.

And I'm psyched to hear I'll get more of hooded skull guy once I get my hands on a copy of issue 2. That closing page of issue 1 is still one of my favourites.

* And don't think anyone can have missed how positive I've been from all I've seen including the Ashcan of #1, so for the record I'm certainly not saying it's started out so low it can only get better, I'm saying it started out really great and with such a good premise and set up that it can only get better... in the right hands. I'm sure quite a few modern teams could mess up in no time at all.

Not opening page, but a good one...........

Great job guys, I loved it, my 11 year old loved it and the owner my comic book shop loved it too.

Thanks, Jodi!

While I've seen both images posted in here before... Man that looks sweet in print! And I love the feeling of a classic cover with some text on it and all. :)

Brad asked, "I was wondering, does FX have to concentrate all the time for

Brad, that was one of the things John helped with early on in the story.
He told me that I'd picked a power for Tom that made him susceptible to
"Banshee syndrome" - he had to always be making the noise to maintain
his power. So, there's not much time for breathing and such which would
be a little difficult for our hero. Now, the noise activates the power and it
stays for as long as he's concentrating on it.

Thanks,

WO

I'm battling with an incompetent LCS right now for both issues currently released.  They were supposed to be on my pull list, but neither have showed up yet.  When I asked the store manager about reordering them he kind of guffawed and said that he couldn't find them listed on his sheets.  I told him who the publisher was, so now he's saying that he has to check with the owner to see if he can order them!  WTF?  This is the same store that ordered extra copies of Romulans because I told them JB was doing it, and sold out of all of them.  Why is the process so complicated?  When I get a moment I'm going to check another shop in town.

Another great issue, Wayne! What is refreshing the most is the pacing. It is non-stop action. It truly has the feel of a classic Stan Lee Marvel comic. You should be proud.

Oh yeah! The JB art was top notch. The not-so Universal monsters looked awesome!

Same here, CJ!  I think the impact of the art might be lessened if the color were overdone.

Got mine today.

It saved my comicbook week as a lot of others were letdowns but this certainly wasn't.

I've figured out what I like about Wayne's writing: it doesn't take forever to get where its going and doesn't describe every pebble along on the way.

I went to the comic book store with my son on Wednesday and was really pleased to see FX #2 on the shelves.  He's 3 1/2 now and has enough self control to not grab everything he sees, so it's actually safe to bring him to the store.  In any case, he recognized the FX logo from the first issue and the ashcan that I have and picked it up right away.  It was great reading the second issue and particularly nice to have a true all-ages book to read.
