-- and Box exploded with a nuclear blast, killing all of Alpha Flight, forever.

The end.

...still brings tear to my eye.

What can I say that so many of us have been saying for the last several months?  Alpha Flight has always been my favorite comic, and I can't imagine that will ever change.  The characters clicked with me from the beginning, and I love them all.  It's a damn shame this poor little book never made it past issue 28...

John, my thanks for sticking with AF for as long as you did, I know it wasn't the most enjoyable experience for you.  Regardless of how you felt, we all know you still put every effort into making the best out of it.

wow. Powerful issue.

And I had forgotten that this had to have the Beyonder trowelled in to it. Sorry for that, JB.

I reread this run every so often.  Whenever I get to this last issue, I think of one thing.  What if JB could do something like this for real...

If I had any Photoshop skills, I'd replace Jen with Box, the banner with AF's, put a 29 in there...

Who but Jim Shooter would create a character who was a living Deus ex
Machina
and then force everybody else to use him?

sigh

If I had a choice of superpowers, Lionel Jeffries' would be on my list.

Sorry to see JB leave this title. Really loved it. Still, I was very excited about him going to the Hulk. As long as he was doing two issues a month I was happy.

As for AF#28 I thought it was terrific. Part of me wishes we could have seen more flashbacks of Omega Flight's origins and Jim Hudson gathering them. I always wondered how they ended up in Gamma Flight.

I love how this switch in creative teams took place.  I wonder if AF would've detiriorted as much as it did if Denny O'Neil had stayed on as the editor after JB left?

Question for JB: Was Walter always doomed once you decided Sasquatch was actually a Great Beast?  Or were you going to keep in him the Box robot for awhile?
