     ...speachless.
Great stuff JB. They both look great, but you've really
outdone yourself on Namor. He looks fantastic.

Q, how did you manage that background (backwater?) effect -Before drawing the bubbles or last?
Thanks.

JB, did you freehand all of those bubbles?

••

Not the ones in the foreground! Those I did with an elliptical template.

And, in the Credit-Where-Credit-is-Due department, thanks to the Forum's
own Paul Gibney. We were chatting on the phone as I worked on this one,
and doing so provided me with the distraction necessary to get into the
right "Zen state" for spotting all those background bubbles with Liquid
Mask!

I have trouble picking my favorite today. All excellent and this one in particular is an outstanding composition.
It's very interesting that Namor's feet face different directions (both inwards). I actually had my Spider-Man action figure take this pose to see what it would look like from the front, and it looks kinda like ballet!

As Paul well knows, there's nothing that works better for me than to get on
the phone while I am drawing. Back in the day, Roger Stern and I used to
run up Marvel's phone bill something fierce, me in Calgary and him in NYC,
as we'd blather away while I drew the latest X-MEN or CAPTAIN AMERICA
page. The conversation would end, and I'd "come back" to find a gorgeous
page I knew I could never have pulled off if I'd been paying attention!

"Hope you don't charge by the bubble."

I hope not! JB, this is GREAT!! The Hulk looks big, monstrous and ugly...just like he should.

As JB said, all I asked for in the commission was Namor vs. Hulk underwater...I figured John could really make it cool with the underwater effects and bubbles. And he sure did!
