WOW, JB--brings me back to your original run on the Avengers where they
fought Count Nefaria-- there was a cool page where he and Wonder Man
had a great exchange ending with Nefaria smashing Simon straight thru
a wall. Great stuff!!!!

Great work as always JB. I love that period of Avengers history.

It's not your work, I know, but I think it's great how The Vision is phasing through the logo on the original cover!

Brilliant Beast, Cap and Scarlet Witch in this commission. Makes you wish John had drawn more issues of the Avengers.

Visually, to me it seems that Wonder Man was a character that no one ever seemed to be able to settle on a definitive version, with artists always fiddling with the haircut, the costume, the glasses, even the hair colour.

I "found" my Wonder Man very early on -- Dave Prowse in A CLOCKWORK ORANGE. From that point, no matter what they did to his basic design, I was always able to draw the same guy "inside" it.

I love, love, LOVE how Vision is all weighted down - cracks in the floor also give cues that Vision is indeed at 'maximum density.'   Even the cape is less wavy.

Thanks, JB!

Mr.Bryne

orgive me if I'm wrong but everyone is talking about The Vision beiing weighted down... but Wonderman's hand is going right through him.So would'nt that mean he is intangible and ghostlike. So Aren't they wrong?

Yes, that's the way I'm reading it too Hector, on both the commission and the original cover.

They redrew the Vision's face on the original cover, huh? Pity...

Avengers commissions are always on a league of their own.

Must confess, what I really like about this one, are WM's boots!
