At least Our Esteemed Host gets (some of) the recognition he justly deserves! Congratulations, JB, and here is hoping for many more awards like that.

It's a funny thing about awards. In the early days of my career, seemed like I
couldn't turn around without winning something. CBG fan awards. Eagle
award. Inkpot. Golden Apples. Pretty much everything that was going.
And, at the time, I didn't think I deserved any of them. I was pretty much
the Flavor of the Month(s), and that seemed to be why I got the awards.
Later, when I had honed my craft and really felt like I was doing something
worthwhile with my work, I'd also fallen from my pedestal, so the awards
thinned out considerably (except in Europe, where no one had told them
they were supposed to hate my stuff).

Well JB, regardless of the feelings you have for your previous work (I loved it), I'm very happy you're getting some well deserved kudos for your years of being one of the best ever! Thanks for all the great comics all this time.

Congratulations Mr. Byrne! That's a really nice award to get, especially with your connection to the character of Superman.

I'm waiting for a legion of disgruntled Superman fans -- probably led by
Mark Waid! -- to protest my receiving the award for just that reason!
