I find very interesting the effect of dry brush in the drawing. You'll see it

Any time anybody tells you they can tell when my work is "rushed", show
them that cover. It was not only cranked out in about an hour, I was called
upon to design the villain at the same time!

I didn't realize you designed Ahab.  Did you draw any of that crossover aside from the cover?

I guess the "rushed" complains come from people comparing your later
work to Austin's very slick (stiff?) inks on your X-men pencils.
