I saw that and my mind went instantly to Ryan! It's also fabulous.

Funny thing about Guardian's costume. I was, of course, trapped as far as the color scheme, since I wanted to base it on the Canadian flag (even tho I have not liked that flag since it was introduced when I was in junior high). But, generally speaking, I am not fond of costumes with red/white combinations. They sort of look unfinished to me, somehow.Anyway, this got me thinking, this morning, about how Guardian might have looked if the flag had had the "sea to sea" color scheme that was briefly considered. . .

It works for me, the dark blue with white along with that design is what made me love Neal Adams' Angel costume before they made it red.

Ewww, no- definitely the all-red for me! I've always liked how his mask is drawn not conforming to the features of the face underneath (like a bump for the nose or cheeks, etc).

Emphasizing that it is a helmet more than a mask. Amazing how many
other artists missed this element.

Now, you remove the leaf on the costume and you have a greaaaat French costumed Superhero.
And the pose is marvelous !

Perhaps he's that already. At the time it was officially announced as the new
flag, there were those who pointed out that the stylized maple leaf at center
bears a strong resemblance to a fleur-de-lis!

True !... Just some little curves and here you go!
But one big problem: the fleur-de-lis is supposed to represent the Monarchy.... and well, that's not what France is...
Maybe an alternate reality...

Wow. Guardian really was one of my favorite characters-- Jim Hudson was the guy who was poised for greatness but was cut down too soon.
