Always liked the blue and yellow one myself.

Here's the same treatment with Logan's current costume.

••

Is Wolverine wearing his Inflato-Chest there? His chin seems to have
disappeared into it.

Something you may find interesting: my original intent for the redesigned
costume was that it be a single brown tone over all, with only the shaded
black areas to define the patterns. Sorta like this:

Given the less than stellar printing of the day, it might not have worked all
that well. Perhaps for the best we went with the brown/ochre look.

I'm a fan of the original costume.  Plus, does anyone really think that Wolverine is fashion conscience ("I wonder how this yellow will go with my eyes? Scott, Scott, come here and tell me if this new brown makes me look too fat!")? hahaha

I'm surprised that he doesn't just wear a red suit to hide the blood that he's about to shed.

Sweetie, if he's going to wear ANY of those suits, he clearly has NO
conscience at all!

Harumph. Football. Beer. NASCAR. Boobies.

There, that's better.

Now. Wolverine is not "fashion" conscious, clearly, but he is enormously
proud, and if he is going to wear a costume at all, it would be one of his
own design. Presumably the blue and yellow was government issue
(which would explain a lot!), and since he rejected Fang's costume
precisely because it was not his own, it makes sense for him to want one
that officially declares his independence.

I would have tougth that for a costume of his own, he would have been on a camouflage idea.

Romita meets Byrne.

Not bad, I like it, but no more than either it draws from.

The stripes look cool, are bothersome for me when keeping his character in mind. Why would he accessorize? I can't wrap my head around anything but a basic costume for Logan, because I'd think that is all he'd be ok wearing. The fact that he actually agrees to put one on amazes me.

Hm, just had a thought. If I had the disposable income, I'd comission John to depict Logan sitting on a chair stiching together a costume with a thought bubble comtaining, What this costume needs is a feel stripes for contrast...

The coloring in that panel is bad.  What issue is that from?  Looks like JR Jr's work (under all that pastel-like color).

Anyway, still the best color scheme--

(Because wolverines aren't yellow and blue with black stripes)

And THAT is why Wolverine wears those colors.

For a supposedly CANADIAN character, how messed up is that?

Messed up, indeed, JB.

Should have made him an alum instead ;-)
