I'm not asking what comic you think is the best one, but I do wonder what comic episodes or characters you think had 'better_than_usual' ideas when they came along?

Neal Adams has been quoted as saying there are no bad characters, only bad
writers. I am in complete agreement with this. It's really not the characters
that stand out, so much as the execution. A brilliant concept can be
wrecked by a bad writer, and vice versa.

I thought Adams' comment was  "There's no such thing as bad characters, just characters handled badly", JB?

(Just so we don't let them pesky artists (on badly handled characters)  away with anything!)

I think Adams' comment is 90% true. Surely there have been at least some bad characters? How about (the orignal ) Red Tornado? And some of Marvel's 1970's supernatural charcters? And, I never got Wonder Woman. (Something that seems to be shared by the various film makers over the years who've tried in vain to put a movie together that would work for today's audience).

I'd say JB and Neal probably nailed it.
