Too Cool!

I love the idea of a comic shot from JB's pencils. EsPECially given the above example.

Strange (and completely off the mark, of course), but the first thought that entered my head when I saw the face in the sketch was "Corporal Schicklgruber?" Something about the look in his eyes.

It sounds interesting.

Was looking forward to the Byrne "Touched by an Angel" miniseries, but I guess this will have to do...

This is great news!

Looking at those pencil experiments - surely to dog that would silence even the worst nay-sayers about JB's work...oh I forgot they're sheep and probably wouldn't recognise great art if it came and bit them on the @$$.

The experiments look fantastic JB (although I suspect that whatever you finally end with will probably blow us away even more).

John Byrne doing a vampire story? Excellent. Now if you just add time travel
to it, you have 100% Byrne.

••

A centuries old character set in a past historical epoch is almost time
travel. . .

Sure -- that wouldn't get me in any trouble at all!!

Great to see more and more JB stuff coming from IDW. Just hoping that there's a JB-written superhero title to come.

Wow! Great news! I've been waiting for a JB WWI comic way back since he did the origin of Deadly Ernest in Alpha Flight. On top of that, it's shot from pencils and is an Angel story (never followed the Buffy series but I enjoyed the few episodes of Angel I watched) - This sounds very promising!

Very good news! I'm a big Buffy/Angel fan and, obviously, a big JB fan, so I'm looking forward to this one. If it's anywhere near as good as JB's recent Star Trek work, it'll be fantastic!

Y'know, I was bummed out several months ago when JB said he wasn't actively pursuing any comic book opportunities. I've been a John Byrne fan for a long time -- probably longer than either of us would like! The idea of JB no longer being a part of the comic book industry just felt wrong.

But now, we've had a 2008 chock-full of John Byrne comic book goodness, with the JLA Classified story arc, Assignment Earth, the Romulans one-shot and FX. And there's more to come!
