The show keeps looking better and better. I wanted to meet Arvell Jones last year but he cancelled at the last minute. Nice to see him making it up for this years con.  I see another big announcement with Bob Layton joining the guest list.

We are about a month away from the con and I was curious if any of the forum members would like to get together Saturday evening for some sort of gathering. Maybe we could do dinner or meet for drinks, there are more than a few places to eat in the immediate area. If anyone is interested we can put together a time and place.

Layton?  Cool.  I'd like to meet him but I already got a commission from him so that should save me money!

I should be good for a Saturday evening gathering.

Layton would be fantastic!

I would also like to see Jerry Ordway.  (Please!!)

Saturday evening would be fun!  It would depend on whether I can get my daughter to go to bed on time.

I'm taking her to meet Art Baltazar, Chris Giarrusso and that Aikins guy.

Mark, are you familiar with the Franklin Richards comics? Artist Chris Eliopoulos and writer Marc Sumerak are going to be at MOC. I'm sure your daughter would like them as well.

I haven't showed her the Franklin Richards books yet.

I bought her the Mini-Marvels trade and I buy her Tiny Titans every month.

Katie is only 2 1/2.  She asks for Tiny Titans by name!

The latest OH, Comics (an anthology first published 20 years ago at MOC) is up on Bob Corby's website http://www.backporchcomics.com/back_porch_comics.htm

This year's issue includes this story by a JBFer:

Saturday night would be nice.  But not too late, I'm going to the Wooly Bear festival Sunday, remember?

Seriously...That Mongolian Barbeque place perhaps?

Now I'll HAVE to wear pants...
Geez, Mark, thanks for including me with those losers...

Actually, I'm always looking forward to seeing Art (I missed Chicago this year, so I'm a bit off my con-friends schedule), and I've never met Chris, so that'll be cool.
It's going to be a really great show this year!
If my wife lets me, I'll try to pop my head into where-ever you guys decide to meet up.
Just don't show up at my house...

According to his art dealer, Dick Ayers is not attending MOC after all....foiling a brilliant (if I do say so myself) con sketch idea I had..  I don't recall his cancellation being announced but I see he has been removed from the web site's guest list.

This leaves me still hopeful to come home with some con art from McLeod, Giarrusso, Baltazar and Darryl Banks.

Based on Steven's suggestion would those interested like to meet up for dinner at the Mongolian BBQ? If you are not aware of the area it is quick walking distance of the convention center. The show ends at 6 and I figure that is enough time to get ready for something after the show. I have to make a reservation if the party is larger than six. It is looking like a possible six so far. Anyone else interested let me know.
