There was a "Johnny Redbeard" character that popped up in a book I looked through a long time ago. I recall being disappointed that the creator went that route...

If you're going for "JB" in comics, you shouldn't forget Booster Cogburn, ws powerfully drawn by Jack Kirby and Alfredo Alcala. (At least, I read that it was in part a reference to JB)

Yeah, that's what I referring to above. Regardless of whether anyone agrees with the intent, etc, I think it has to be said that Kirby was pretty good at composing a "dis".
I mean, I'm a HUGE fan of Roy Thomas, but Kirby coming up with "House Roy" is, I think, blisteringly witty.

Parody versions of Stan Lee, Jim Shooter, JB, Chris Claremont (and I believe Dave Cockrum also) showed up in issues #2-3 of 1982's E-Man series from First Comics... (Issue #1 has the faux Hostess Twinkie ad by JB featuring Rog-2000).
