Having read that the female Robin in DKR was my suggestion (I even
provided Frank with a sketch), the customer asked for my versions of the
characters from that story. Thing is, without the hulking Batman, it just
didn't come across as that. So I sort of penciled the piece "as" Frank, and
inked it as me.*

*Tho a little Klaus seems to have snuck in here and there!!

Very cool! It's neat how it looks like "Byrne" and "Miller" both at the same time.

Parts of the piece, like the Batman's shoes scream Frank to me.  other parts, like Robin from head to toe, are classic JB.  Very cool.  Love the idea.....would love to see your take on Marv

John, have you ever drawn this version of Batman before?  This commission raises all kinds of possibilities.  John's take on the Batman by Gaslight(Mignola), John's take on Year One Batman.....hmmmm

Very nice. I think the left foot (the black fill helps), the pose and especially the hands look like Miller, while the rest is pure Byrne in my eyes, especially the face, thorax and all of Robin, who feels like she came directly from the pages of Generations.
Very interesting exercise, in any case.

The Batman looks very much like a Frank Miller pastiche, while the Carrie-
Robin is all you. Appropriate, methinks. Nice piece.

I imagine a piece like this one requires much more thought.  can't get in the zone as easily when being asked to draw in someone elses style.

so, tell the truth, JB....Frank Miller was over at your house for a visit, he laid out a few pencils as a joke and you inked them for this commission....right?   You really should give him credit.   LOL

Very nice job.

So....can we see a Captain America drawn like Rob Leifield, now?
(ducks)

Nice!

Is Batman's cape/cowl supposed to be black or blue here? To my eye it looks like it would be blue from the shoulders up, but the rest black.
