That... would actually work.

Occasional cutaways from the "action" with Jones showing a hateful and deeply crooked Nils Barris plotting to overcome the stain on his career left by Darvis and still accomplish those underhanded, skeevy deals still in progress that Darvis was so much a part of... The Bartender offers a word or two of advice, proving himself as able a conspirator as Barris could hope for.  The two scheme... while Jones quietly goes about in the background, doing his job, overhearing everything... Waiting for just the right moment...

For the graphic violence/ massive death-count/ slaughter of specific innocents portion of a modern comic, an old, dishonored Klingon veteran of the "Great Tribble Hunt" could show up, offering carnage aplenty.  Since villains must also be physically disgusting to look at these days, a tribble-chewing villain could appear who has a Glomper fused to his head, arm, and spinal column... He could be a serial sex killer, putting waitresses and female Starfleet personnel in tribble-wigs before raping and devouring them...

Yeah, "Tribbles" was a fine show for what it was, but, man, someone today could really take it downtown hardcore... Oh, yeah...

How about 22 pages of Jones and Barris buried in tribbles?

^ I can just imagine the confusion art collectors would have viewing the DOA gallery if Jim Warden had to sell the pages...

 QUOTE:
I'd love to see a misadventures of Cyrano Jones style book -- a rogue free
trader getting into and out of mischief in the Star Trek universe would be
a lot of fun.

Reminds me of a comment I read several years ago, to the effect of:  "If the show was called 'Star Trek: Firefly, about a ship of smugglers/thieves disenchanted with the Federation, it'd still be on the air.  Instead, we get to see Enterprise regurgitating and recycling the same old Trek stories from the past decade."

Here's a peek at the tonal approach I am experimenting with this issue. And,
yes, this will be colored.

Nice page John. I "heard " the transporter sound effect in my head when it popped up on my  screen.

That cover is stunningly haunting!  I really like the sort of cold grayness of it a lot.

And the transporter page above looks nifty too.

Maybe the book shouldn't be in color.  I really appreciate the stuff you're doing on the book.  The color may ruin it.

Up to seeing this cover my interest in CREW was kinda weak...now, I am really psyched!

Sweet sneak peek, too!
