This cover is so iconic that it ended up on a T-shirt:

I'm with Gil -- FF#249 and the companion piece Superman # 8 are my all time favorite Byrne covers.

Seconding Ed Fahey's choice of CAP 254.

My brother said "read the comic stupid"

Sounds reasonable, but what a lot of people don't realize is a good cover can leave you transfixed and reason is out the window at that point.

***

EXACTLY!

Some covers are so good you don't even need to read the comic! The cover tells the whole story. I have a lot of comics like that. And it's not just because I don't like to read that much.

I always liked this one. One of my favorites.
It's a good Spidey.

This whole issue baked my 12-year-old noodle!

We have done this before; this must be the 3rd time I have posted this one.
And I certainly don’t mind.

I hope to have this as a recreation some day.

I traded the original of that for a DICK TRACY Sunday. One of the last ones
Chester Gould himself actually worked on.

I'd have to say "The Masque of Doom" just because even to this day I have no friggin' idea how he made it look so realistic.
