Hi Everybody,

I'm a big fan of your work JB, and I was just wondering, have you ever
considered making a convention appearance over here in Australia?
Comparatively the cons are small, but they sure are fun and it would be a
great way to promote your current books.

I know it's a long shot but I just thought I'd ask.

I was invited to appear at a Con in Australia many years ago -- but it was a
little odd. Basically, "We're having a Con, and if you're in the neighborhood,
we'd love to have you as a guest!"

Now, I don't do conventions any more.

Damn, that's a shame.
Thanks for replying though, I appreciate it.

Is there any other way I can obtain a shoulder-up 8x10 commission from
you?

I'm working on a new project, a collection of head sketches of characters
from Jack Kirby's Fourth World. Today my first piece arrived, a Kirby Orion
sketch. You draw a mean Kalibak Mr. Byrne.

Unfortunately I have tried, he has informed me that smaller head sketches
are not a policy. As much as I would love to get a full figure commission, I
don't have the money.

Luca,  keep an eye on Jim's website.  He updates it periodically.  Every now and then, if you hop right on it, you can get a nice sketch at a great price.  I picked up a 19 second Batman head sketch for $25 and I also picked up a full Superman for $225.  Jim will even post on the Update thread when he's got new stuff.  First come first served on those.  Patience Grasshopper.

I have a 19 second Batman also. Congrats on the Superman, Brad. What size of paper is it on?

I'd have to measure it again, but it was bigger than I thought it was going to be.  8x10?  Maybe a bit smaller....

My 19 second Batman is on a regular size comic backing board.

Most of them are. A few I have done in sketchbooks, on the spot, or
autograph books, that were smaller.

I snagged a Cap sketch and a 19 second Batman, too...not to mention Jim is a GREAT guy, despite being a Caps fan!  ;-)
