This week I started this, the third and "final" chapter of my Romulans stuff for IDW. This tells the tale of how the Romulans and the Klingons stopped being "pals" some time before the first TREK movie. I was just trying to find a spoiler-free page to post, but there's so much stuff going on in these three issues that just about any full page has stuff I don't want you seeing yet. Even out of context!

So, here's a little sneekpeek patched together out of a couple of different pages:

Now THESE are Klingons! I've always liked the grace of the TOS Klingon
cruisers.

I've always thought that the reason the Klingons and Romulans were on the
"outs" was because the Klingons stole the Bird of Prey name. ;-)

Hey, remember when the Romulans flew "birds of prey" and were the noble,
honorable ones?

What the heck happened???

I always bring that up too! In fact, I just watched a rerun of TNG where Worf
laments "Romulans... they have no honor." And my mouth dropped open
and I said aloud "what the?"

Nice to see the smirking Klingons JB!  Thanks for the look-ahead!

Well, judging how grungy and haze-filled the Klingon ships of the ST:TMP era and beyond are, my guess is that the Klingon people started smoking their version of weed at some point and generally "mellowed out", taking the Romulan concept of honor and remaking it as their own (while undergoing some drastic physical & mental side-effects and suffering severe cases of the munchie attacks).

Faced with an entire empire full of batleth-wielding, honor-spouting "hippies" next door to them, a rather disgusted Romulan Empire dumped honor and turned into the devious jerks they are today...  ;P

Man, it'd be great to have those Klingon's all the time!   It's like you actually watched those episodes that the Klingons appeared in!

ohboyohboyohboyohboy!

All of these Klingons seem to be going bald, is that indicative of the changes to their foreheads starting to come into effect, JB?
