616? 616? I haven't read much Xmen or Avengers since
before the whole House of M , Super hero registration
Act...STUFF!, but I have seen all these differant Marvel
numbered Universes come up. Could someone, briefly,
explain?

I think it might have begun in the Marvel UK books (Captain
Britain maybe) but there were stories about alternate
dimensions, the same as ours but with slight to major
differences and the designation given to the original
Marvel Universe is 616.

"I'm intimately familiar with Claremont.  I know his writing style, where there are many pages of expository dialog and long winded conversations."

I went in with this notion also, and he really seems to be editing himself...A LOT.

Speaking of editing, the hardest part is putting yourself in the time frame the story is continued from. Hard but fun in that you can actually tell yourself all the crap fromt he last 20yrs DIDNT happen....Logan is still a mystery....Jean JUST came back to life and is getting used to Madelyne Pryor's memories...BEAST is still in the "oh my star's and garter's" stage......Cyclop's is still cool.
But I don't even know how to read Storm anymore.(Then again she was pretty much ruined by this time) Or Kitty...or "Father" Nightcrawler.....could be fun to get to know them all over again....

Me too, i'ld certainly like to see Claremont's Forever outsell Fraxion's Uncanny and Ellis's Astonishing. :)

That would be fun.

Actually i'ld like it to become Marvel's biggest sales.

Not sure it will happen, but that would be fun.

To anybody who doesn't realize just how bad Astonishing has gotten:

In an interview up on CBR when asked about its schedule, Joe Q casually said, that issue #30 is coming out this month, and #31 is coming in November.

When asked if they're trying to get it on a monthly schedule, he said they're bringing in Phil Jimenez as penciller, so that should help...but it probably still won't be monthly.

Not even trying anymore...

This is the same Joe Quesada who was quoted years ago as saying fans don't expect the books to come out monthly.

Marvel stopped trying a long time ago.

…doesn't the brown costume have the black "band" around the back of the mask too or was that just on Cockrum's blue and yellow?

••

I get a "Page Not Found" error message with the link you provided, but I can't imagine how the mask could not have the "band" around the back, if the top of the head is tan and the neck and shoulders are dark brown.

That's. . . odd. And, wouldn't you know, I can't find a single printed example
of how / drew it!!

…so long ago…

Well I know you drew it on the Yellow and Blue one so I
assumed you carried it over.

It's a page from X-men Forever Alpha the collected book of
X-men 1-3 it had a 9 page preview at the end. Though it's
from something that happens from Forever issue 1 just from
Wolverines POV (in issue 1 we get Jean's POV).
