… did you layout all the pieces first as thumbnails, JB?

••

Nope. Winging it, as the customer provides the cast for each.

I asked: "What is this setting you've cooked up for these pieces?"

••

JB responded: "I was afraid somebody would ask me that. . ."

******

Ha!  In that case, I say some future world, advanced technology, base of operations belonging to Kang!

Breathtaking!   I love how that metal is wrapped around the Hulk... but it ain't gonna stay there long!

I'm curious, JB... do you still have the other drawings to match up to the new ones?  If not, how are you keeping things lined up / straight?   I assume this isn't one gigantic sheet!

I have same-sized xeroxes of each piece.

Thank you JB!  An amazing job and got all the elements I was hoping for (I was praying for some "metal work" by Magneto on the heroes).

Joe did get it right as this was a play on the "Acts of Vengeance" theme.

So we have 3 parts down and 3 to go.  Lots more heroes and villains coming.

I have to say, while it's very nice to see these pieces and I'm happy that Mr. Byrne is getting steady work out of commissions, it just highlights how much I wish we could get through all the bullshit and just have more Marvel comics illustrated by Mr. Byrne.

perhaps a crossover with some DC heavy hitters??

==========================================

No DC characters in this 6-parter.  Even though I am cooking up a 4-part DC thing for next year.

General question for commissioners or JB (there may be some commissions in my future):

When you ask for a commission do you specify just the characters or do you give more detail about the background, etc.? Does JB have a preference?

These pieces are sweet, btw.
