Quite a few JBF members, including me, are fans on that page.  Like being fans of George Clooney, hamburgers or corvettes.  I'm a fan of quite a few things over there, but I've only actively updated a couple.  The comments that I can read are all positive; it seems harmless, but I can understand where you are coming from, JB.  Facebook recently made group and fan pages look more like peoples' personal pages when it did its last big update, so it could be mistaken for you actually posting there.

There is a disclaimer on the left side of the page:

This is only a fanpage. John Byrne is NOT the creator, nor moderator of this profile

Are there pages like this for anyone else? I'm not on Facebook, so there's no way for me to check.

Maybe JB is not the only one who needs to know how to get rid of it.

Okay, so Ryan beat me to it. But someone may still need to know.

Yes Michael. There are pages like this for practically EVERY PUBLIC FIGURE in
Sports, Movies, Music, TV and other pop culture.

No one who understands the premise of a fan page, seeks to have them
removed.   Its a part of the Facebook community where people can go to be
with other people who ENJOY someone's work/talent/efforts.

ITS A COMPLIMENT to have a fan page like the one this is being discussed
here.

Or at least it should be.

Except your distinguished host, who already has a fan page.

Michael, just so I don't misunderstand. Respectfully.

Are you advocating that there should not be any other outlets to promote,
discuss and enjoy John Byrne comics, other than this one forum? Is that your
opinion?

There are two others, not a fan on these.
ONE

TWO

Nooooo....

I was saying he started this thread because he apparently didn't want the Facebook page.

I'll try not to speak for him in the future, and let you draw your conclusions from his posts as I did.

Respectfully.

Looking over all 4 links, JB's plus the 3 that I posted, I think the best way to showcase JB is my first link, the art discussion page.  The last two links really can make it seem like JB is posting, even with the disclaimer.  JOHN BYRNE says...  JOHN LINDLEY BYRNE says...

It also clearly says in the top left Sign up for Facebook to connect with John Byrne....which is a tad misleading, even with the statement below about being a fan page.
