I can't recall off the top of my head which episode it was from but I do remember this line from TOS.

++++++++++

"Space Seed".

I think I may have forgotten to mention that there has been some schedule
shuffling. IDW has decided to release the Andy Hallett tribute book (ANGEL:
MUSIC OF THE SPHERES) in March, so McCOY's start date has been bumped
back to April.

Before anyone pounces with glee, here, let me point out this is not a "delay",
since the book had not yet been officially scheduled or solicited. And, as
noted upthread, the first issue is finished, and I will probably be starting on
the second next week, when MUSIC is finished.

I hadn't heard about the Andy Hallett tribute, but it sounds great. I'm looking forward to both of these projects.

Will McCoy revisit worlds already explored or will he take his practice away from safe regions of space?

McCoy and his team will be out on the frontiers of the Federation -- hence the series title -- but his mandate will not be to "boldly go where no man has gone before". His role here is not that of an explorer.

I thought "frontier" meant he would be in the country on Earth.  In retrospect, this was a very limited reading of the title!

Will McCoy have some regret leaving his post on the Enterprise?  Will he be questioned by others about Star Fleet?  Will we see some affects through the frontier which Star Fleet was responsible for--positive or negative?

As a Xmas treat, Chris Ryall has okayed a sneekpeek at the cover for the first issue. This is with a dummy logo, strictly for placement. The real logo has not been designed yet.

Enjoy!

And, yes, I know I told you all this series takes place between TOS and TMP, and indeed it does -- but I took a wee liberty with the costuming so McCoy would be more "recognizable" on this cover -- especially since he has his back to the readers!
