I don't have an iPhone. I love my flip-top cellphone. When no one's looking I pretend to call the Enterprise!

I knew I couldn't be the only one! Even when I'm really talking on it, I sometimes hold it like Kirk held his communicator, and not up to my ear like a phone.

I was just musing on this exact subject a couple of weeks ago. Imagine if, twenty or thirty years ago, a science-fiction TV show had envisioned a portable communication device that also served as a camera and had a video screen. No one would ever have had their characters holding them to their ears to talk! They would have certainly held them at arm's length, talking into them like a video phone.

Hmmm, I can't post from the iPhone, either. I click on the Post Reply Box and nothing happens.

I'm getting the same result--or lack of result--on my Droid. I can browse the forum just fine, but I can't post.

Both of my telephones look like this, and I like it.

The ring tone on my iPhone is the chirping of the TNG communicator. It's amazing how many people recognize it as such.

Michael - how do you cope with services that require you to "Press 1 for Sales, 2 for Support etc"?

In most cases if you just hold on an operator will pick up, there are exceptions of course in which case I just hang up, if it's important enough I'll call from a pay phone or my parents home when I visit them.  But in truth I rarely have need to call such places as many have websites I can access on my computer.

I love the sound that rotary telephones make.

Err...

They look alike...

••

I wonder if you have any idea how DEPRESSING a statement like that is to a professional artist? Aside from having roughly the same shape (altho being about four times thicker) a Mother Box looks nothing like an iPhone. You might as well say a Conestoga wagon looks like an SUV because they both have four wheels!

I was under the impression that every Mother Box looked different. Am I misremembering?
