Approx 11x17 inches
Full sized @ 200dpi en route to Dan for the Gallery. Incidentally, I would like to apologize to FF fans everywhere, for having killed Johnny, Reed, Sue and Ben during this story. Pulling out the appropriate OHOTMU page for reference on Gladiator, I happened to scan the accompanying text, and discovered that while his powers had been "speculated" to be "psionic", in fact they are not. So, since the FF's victory in that story turned specifically on that "speculation" proving correct, I guess they all got killed and I was doing "Marvel Zombies" long before anybody else!

Whoever wrote and edited that OHOTMU entry need to extract their craniums from their rectums!•• Mark Gruenwald was the OHOTMU editor, and he was simultaneously the Best and the Worst man for the job. Best, because of his encyclopedic knowledge of the Marvel Universe. Worst, because if he didn't know something or, worse, didn't like the answer, he'd make up something on the spot. This is how Fin Fang Foom became telepathic, Cyclops started "channeling" energy from "parallel universes", and Gladiator lost his mental powers.

Excellent, JB - your Thing is the definitive one to me. You've got that dinosaur hide down, but more importantly you have his face and movement to a tee. Whenever I see Ben in the commissions, I feel like seeing a old friend.

About the "dinosaur hide"…That description came into common parlance after Jack Kirby appeared on a panel at a San Diego Con, where, during Q&A, he was asked what he had in mind when he designed the look of the Thing. Taking the question literally, Kirby said "dinosaur hide", which described how the character had looked for the first few years of the FF. According to Roger Stern, who was present and reported this exchange, there was much confusion in the audience, as the "rocky" version of the Thing, which is what the questioner was asking about, bore no resemblance to anybody's idea of "dinosaur hide". Meself, I basically think of a dry lake bed. 
Just for funsies, here again is that "Evolution of the Thing" montage I put together a while back… 
You'll notice he becomes "rocky", as distinct from "lumpy", rather abruptly, when "George Bell" (George Roussos) takes over the inking from Dick Ayers.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up, JB - I guess that's how teh term stuck in my head. But dry lake bed is a better description for what I feel is the best look. It's always a treat to see him and the FF in these commissions.
